Places Victoria is a government agency focused on urban renewal. In 2017 the agency rebranded, moving from their Docklands location to the old Herald Sun building on the corner of Flinders & Exhibition Streets. Using reclaimed wharf timbers salvaged from from Melbourne Docklands, we worked very closely with key stakeholders, engineers and construction management to create the various timber showpieces that expressed Places Victoria’s commitment to sustainable and renewed spaces in our city.
Works were completed over an 8 week period, and included the fabrication and installation of a 2-tonne free-standing feature wall with custom steel support and framework, eight meter floating shelf and custom steel brackets, 16-seat boardroom table and screened reception and mailroom area.
Brushed reclaimed wharf timbers (wall & shelf), remilled reclaimed wharf timbers in Grey Ironbark & Brushbox (Boardroom table) and Spotted Gum battens (Reception area).
5 Star Green Star (Interiors) rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
